Hythe to Folkestone Coast Protection Scheme, Kent, England

This particular scheme was programmed to protect over the next 50 years 2,200 homes at risk from flooding, 700 homes at risk from erosion, commercial concerns in excess of £22 million and our irreplacable assets such as the Royal Military Canal and The Leas at Folkestone.

This involved Abeko receiving 250,000 tonnes of armour rock delivered from Norway and constructing a number of groynes and structures to different designs and specifications. The beach was then replenished using 350,000 cubic meters of shingle dredged material from an offshore location.
